Service Description:

The epithermal gold web map is a collection of data related to the epithermal gold mineral system in New Zealand. These deposits form at shallow depths and are found in active and ancient volcanic regions, often associated with geothermal systems. These deposits are rich in gold (Au) as well as trace metals such as silver (Ag), antimony (Sb), and mercury (Hg). The mineral system structure grouping the data in this web map is a classification method for deposits that form through similar geological processes. Data are grouped into energy, fluid and volcanic sources, pathways, deposition sites, and areas with evidence of outflow. There is also a data group showing known major mineral deposits and mineral occurrences. https://data.gns.cri.nz/mapservice/Content/Zealandia/Science/Minerals/EpithermalGold.html
